Update on PDM Maintenance and Development

PDM Audit Project

Our PDM Audit is intended to improve the format of the specifications and attribute structure. Most of the categories are being revisited, starting with the most popular ones. There are potential concerns with this project we need to make our customers aware of:

  • The project entails massive redistributions of SKUs.
  • Some searchable attributes will be deactivated.
  • The format of specifications will be changed significantly. The specifications will not just be improved, but they will look different.

Categories finished in May:

  • Headsets & Microphones (KE)

Categories currently in progress or planned for June:

  • Carrying Cases (ME)

ACC Fix

A bug has been fixed in version Alternative CNET Categorization 15.2 - a few codes have been altered according to the table.

Attributes Modification

List of performed modifications of all attributes due to its length is separated into an Excel spreadsheet - Addendum. The spreadsheet contains both performed and planned modifications on sheets "Performed modification" and "Planned modifications" correspondingly.

Some of the attributes to be modified:

Operation Category ID Category Attribute ID Attribute Searchable Date
Remove Searchable** AB Notebooks A00127 Optical Storage / Read Speed NO 1-Jul-15
Deactivate*** AB Notebooks A00127 Optical Storage / Read Speed NO 1-Jul-15
Remove Searchable AB Notebooks A00128 Optical Storage / Write Speed NO 1-Jul-15

* - status of the attribute after the modification
** - to remove status “searchable” from an attribute (replacement attribute list is available in Addendum).
*** - to deactivate an attribute from a category, the attribute is no longer used for capturing information

Attribute Deactivation Feed

The following links are feeds which include all searchable attributes, both active and deactivated. This will allow DataSource customers to see what attributes have changed, and to check if these changes have been properly reflected within their databases. This feed is available in two different file formats: Excel and tab-delimited text.

The feed can be downloaded using the following links:

Attribute_Deactivation_Feed.xls

Attribute_Deactivation_Feed.txt

A covering document is also available. It describes the feed purpose and usage guidelines: Attribute_Deactivation_Feed.pdf

NOTE: The feed does not include searchable attributes which were deactivated prior to January 1, 2010.
