Update on PDM Maintenance and Development
PDM Audit Project
Our PDM Audit is intended to improve the format of the specifications and attribute structure. Most of the categories are being revisited, starting with the most popular ones. There are potential concerns with this project we need to make our customers aware of:
- The project entails massive redistributions of SKUs.
- Some searchable attributes will be deactivated.
- The format of specifications will be changed significantly. The specifications will not just be improved, but they will look different.
Categories finished in December:
- Wearable Electronics (PJ)
- Camcorders & Digital Cameras (JD)
Categories currently in progress or planned for January:
- Televisions & Flat Panels (JA)
- Home Audio (KA)

PDM scope has been expanded into the following segments:
- Sewing Machines:
A new category Sewing Machines (SO) has been created in Small Appliances class.
The category covers sewing machines for domestic use.
- Microscopes:
A new category Microscopes (LH) has been created in Cameras & Optical Systems class.
The category covers optical and digital microscopes.
- Weather Instruments:
A new category Weather Instruments (SN) has been created in Small Appliances class.
The category covers weather stations, thermometers, barometers and other weather measuring
instruments for domestic use.
- Watches:
A new category Watches (9C) has been created.
The category covers wrist and pocket watches.
- Gift and Prepaid Phone Cards:
A new category Gift & Prepaid Cards (MM) has been created.
The category covers gift cards, refill and prepaid phone cards.
Also some of existing categories have been modified to cover new segments (lawn and garden furniture, bed
and bathroom storage furniture, gaming chairs, alarm clocks, wall art, home monitoring and security sensors,
sheet music and song books).

List of performed modifications of all attributes due to its length is separated into an Excel spreadsheet - Addendum. The spreadsheet contains both performed and planned modifications on sheets "Performed modification" and "Planned modifications" correspondingly.

Attribute Deactivation Feed
The following links are feeds which include all searchable attributes, both active and deactivated. This will allow DataSource customers to see what attributes have changed, and to check if these changes have been properly reflected within their databases. This feed is available in two different file formats: Excel and tab-delimited text. The feed can be downloaded using the following links:
