Manufacturer Logos Instead of Default Images
When an actual product image is not available from the product manufacturer, CCS provides default images or “no image available” placeholders for those products.
Starting with this release, we will be able to switch on or off manufacturer logos in Media Type 15 in the Digital Content feeds individually for each of our DataSource customers.
Please contact our Customer Support team if you would like to take advantage of this new DataSource option and replace default images in your
Download.zip.
Obsolete Historical SKUs
As the number of SKUs grows every year, and as we have to update old SKUs to maintain database consistency, the size of daily Download.zip feeds grow accordingly as well.
To reduce the size of our catalogs, we have introduced a new option that removes completely obsolete and outdated products from customer catalogs, reducing the size of daily feeds by 50%. The algorithm to determine obsolete products is conservative. It does not remove discontinued products that might still be in the channel and takes into consideration SKU lifecycle differences in various categories, as well as the last SKU request date by CCS DataSource customers.
Please contact our Customer Support team if you would like to take advantage of this new DataSource option and remove obsolete products from your catalog.
Portioned Full Catalog Refresh
Some DataSource customers cannot load a full catalog refresh feed or even some of the bigger daily Download.zip feeds when the CCS team does mass product updates and redistribution due to the size of Download.zip feeds.
Starting with this release, the CCS team is able to limit Download.zip feed updates with a certain number of SKUs at a customer request. In case of a full catalog refresh or big daily updates, the feed will be split into several separate daily feeds (each one not exceeding the customer-specific SKU limit) and distributed to this customer over several days.
Please contact our Customer Support team if you would like to take advantage of this new DataSource option and limit the size of your daily feeds
with just a certain number of SKUs.
Unicode Support
Traditionally, the Download.zip feed was made available to DataSource customers only in Windows encoding. In this release, we have added support for UTF-8 and UTF-16 code pages.
Please contact our Customer Support team if you would like to transition your account from the standard Windows code page to Unicode.
Russian and Turkish Languages
CCS has added two more languages to the list of the officially supported languages:
- Russian
- Turkish
Please contact our Customer Support team or your Account Manager if you would like to take advantage of this new DataSource option.
New Categories
CCS has expanded catalog coverage to now include Toys categories, including:
- Toys (action figures, dolls, stuffed animals, toy cars, etc.)
- Blocks & Building Sets (LEGO, Mega Blocks, etc.)
- Games & Puzzles (board games, card games, etc.)
- Outdoor Play (playhouses, sandboxes, beach toys, etc.)
CCS has expanded catalog coverage to include Power Tools and Do-It-Yourself categories, including:
- Hand Tools (wrenches, hammers, hacksaws, etc.)
- Power Tools (drills, air compressors, grinders, sanders, etc.)
- Construction Equipment (ladders, scaffolding, etc.)
- Locking Systems (door locks, padlocks, cable locks, etc.)
Please contact our Customer Support team or your Account Manager if you would like to include product data for Toys and Power Tools SKUs in your
DataSource feed.
UK Trade Tariff Codes
CCS has added one more 3rd-party product classification (UK Trade Tariff Codes) to the list of the supported standards that we announced in our previous releases
(ECCN, HTS and UNSPSC).
UK Trade Tariff (UKTT,) also known as UK Integrated Tariff, is a ten-digit commodity classification code system based on the EU TARIC.
Codes are assigned to imported and exported goods, in order to identify what duties and controls apply, and ensure a correct customs declaration.
Please contact our Customer Support team or your Account Manager if you would like to take advantage of this new DataSource option.
